St Kevin's Old Boys Football Club
St Kevin's Old Boys Football Club (SKOB) is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris. The club is linked to St Kevin's College. As of 2024, SKOB's men's and women's teams both compete in the Premier Division of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and the VAFA Women's (VAFAW) respectively. History St Kevin's Old Boys was founded in 1947 and joined the VAFA the same year, along with fellow new clubs Commonwealth Bank and State Electricity Commission. Its first season was in C Section, however the club was relegated to D Section for the 1948 season. The club won its first premiership in 1952 with a victory in the D Section Grand Final, and returned to C Section in 1953. SKOB won its first senior Premier Division premiership in 2017, with a three-point victory over Collegians. In 2018, SKOB went back-to-back, defeating Collegians by 5 points. 2023 VAFA Season
The 2023 VAFA season was the 122nd season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season began on 15 April and concluded on 15 September, with 63 teams participating across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. Following the conclusion of the season, Ivanhoe and Old Paradians left the VAFA to join the Northern Football Netball League, and Division 4 was abolished as a result. Association membership Following the conclusion of the 2022 season, Manningham Cobras merged with Yarra Old Grammarians in order to keep both clubs viable on and off-field. VAFA Women's
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. It consists of seven senior men's and women's divisions ranging from Premier to Division 4. In addition there are U19's sections and five Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in. The league's administration base is at Elsternwick Park, a former Victorian Football Association stadium in suburban Elsternwick, Victoria, that was home to the now defunct Brighton Football Club and is now the home base for Old Melburnians Football Club and Elsternwick Football Club. 2017 VAFA Women's Season
The 2017 VAFA Women's season was the inaugural season of the VAFA Women's (VAFAW) competition. 40 teams competed across five divisions, and unlike the VAFA men's competition, there was no promotion and relegation system. Brunswick, , Melbourne University and St Kevin's all entered two teams each. Victorian Women's Football League
The Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL) was the oldest and largest Australian rules football league for women in the world, consisting of 47 clubs from Victoria, Australia, across seven divisions and a total of over 1,000 players. The VWFL complied with the laws of Australian football. The official ball, a Sherrin, used by the VWFL, was a custom-made size 4.5 ball. Ethan Phillips (born 17 July 1999) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Phillips joined the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup in 2016 and stayed with the club in 2017. In 2018, he joined in the Victorian Football League (VFL), playing in 15 games and avering 11.5 intercept possessions. Tom Jok
Tuth "Tom" Jok (born 1 January 1997) is a Sudanese born Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Jok attended Elsternwick Primary School after moving to Australia from Sudan as a young boy before moving to Pakenham Grammar then eventually moving to St Kevin’s College. There, he was a star in the 1st XVIII Australian rules football team for a number of years in multiple roles. He continued to play football for St Kevin's Old Boys, winning the VAFA flag whilst also playing for the Collingwood VFL side. Ned Reeves
Ned Reeves (born 31 October 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Reeves was always a tall boy for his age. Growing up on the Surf Coast in Fairhaven, Ned played his junior football with the Aireys Inlet Eels in the Football Geelong Junior Competition and the Anglesea FNC until he moved to Melbourne at age 15. Ned attended Aireys Inlet primary school and St Josephs College, Geelong before St Kevins College, Toorak. He was the tallest boy in the NAB Under 18 League, playing for Oakleigh Chargers, but he wasn't drafted. He played the 2018 year in the VAFA for St Kevins Old Boys.
