St. Paul's School (Louisiana)
Saint Paul's School is a private all-boys Lasallian high school, located in Covington, Louisiana just to the north of New Orleans, United States. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans, the school is run by the Christian Brothers and is one of the 1,000 Lasallian schools in more than 80 countries. It is part of 300 years of history originating from the founding of the Christian Brother Schools by Saint Jean Baptiste de La Salle. In 2015 and 2021, the United States Department of Education recognized St. Paul's as a Blue Ribbon School. History In 1904, a group of residents of the Covington area banded together to fund the building of a new public school. After acquiring a tract of land and building a one-story, 2 bedroom building, the school, called Dixon Academy, opened in 1907. The school failed to attract enough students to remain viable. Covington, Louisiana
Covington is a city in and the parish seat of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 11,564 at the 2020 United States census. It is located at a fork of the Bogue Falaya and the Tchefuncte River. Covington is part of the Slidell-Mandeville-Covington statistical area. History The earliest known settlement by Europeans in the area was in 1800 by Jacques Drieux, during the British West Florida period. In 1813, John Wharton Collins established a town with the name of Wharton. He is buried on the corner of the city cemetery directly across from the Covington Police Department. On March 11, 1816, the town of Wharton was renamed as Covington. There are conflicting stories about how the city came to be named Covington. Kade William Anderson (born July 6, 2004) is an American college baseball pitcher for the LSU Tigers. Career Anderson attended St. Paul's School in Covington, Louisiana. During his high school career he went 28–1 with a 0.22 earned run average (ERA) with 212 strikeouts. He did not pitch his senior year in high school in 2022 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery. He committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college baseball. Anderson did not pitch his first year at LSU in 2023 while recovering from his Tommy John Surgery. He returned in 2024 to pitch in 18 games with nine starts. He went 4–2 with a 3.99 ERA and 59 strikeouts in innings. Anderson entered 2025 as LSU's number one starter.
