St Marys Senior High School is a government-funded co-educational dual modality partially academically selective and comprehensive post-compulsory secondary day school, located in St Marys, a suburb in western Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1989, the school is the first New South Wales Department of Education senior high school and currently caters for approximately 900 students in Year 11 and Year 12. St Mary's School, Eccleston
St Mary's School is on the west side of Eaton Road in the village of Eccleston, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is still in use today, now known as Eccleston C-of-E Primary School. History The school was built in 1878 for the 1st Duke of Westminster and designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It continues to be in use as a Church of England primary school. Architecture The architectural style is described by Douglas' biographer, Edward Hubbard, as being Gothic, although in the citation in The National Heritage List for England it is described as being as Tudor. It is constructed in red sandstone with a red tile roof and its plan is a 'T'-shape. Scarborough Convent School, also known as The Convent of the Ladies of Mary Grammar School and many variations, was a girls' school in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England, from 1882 until 1975. The school was founded by a Belgian order of nuns, the Daughters of Joseph and Mary, who had established their first English school, Coloma Convent Girls' School which is still open, in Croydon in 1869. The school closed at the end of the academic year in 2010, in preparation for its amalgamation with Matthew Humberstone School to form St Andrew's College, a joint faith school which opened in September 2010. History In 1896, four nuns from the Congregation of St Mary of Namur came from Belgium to Bishop's Stortford and established a school with nine students. These sisters were the first to provide Catholic education for the district, and the school grew. As it was a fee-paying school, a free smaller school was set up in what is now St Mary's music block.
