Kitgum is a municipality in Kitgum District in the Northern Region, Uganda, Northern Region of Uganda. The town is administered by Kitgum Municipality Council, an urban local government. Gulu
Gulu is a city in the Northern Region of Uganda. It is the commercial and administrative centre of Gulu District. The coordinates of the city of Gulu are 2°46'54.0"N 32°17'57.0"E. John Baptist Odama (born 20 July 1947) is a Ugandan Roman Catholic priest, who serves as the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gulu, in Uganda, since 2 January 1999. Background and priesthood Odama was born in Riki-Oluko Village, in present-day Arua District, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda on 29 June 1947. The Comboni Missionary Sisters (S.M.C.; ) are a Catholic religious institute originally founded under the name ''Pie Madri della Nigrizia'', translated as the "Pious Mothers of the Nigritia" or "The Devout Mothers of Africa". Lira is a city in the Northern Region, Uganda, Northern Region of Uganda. It serves as the main urban center of the Lango sub-region. On July 1, 2020, Lira was officially elevated to city status as part of Uganda's government plan to create new cities across the country. Following this elevation, Lira City became a separate administrative entity distinct from Lira District.
