St. Gabriel's Secondary School
St. Gabriel's Secondary School (SGSS), often known as "St. Gabs" for short, is a government-aided Roman Catholic all-boys' secondary school in Serangoon, Singapore. Founded in 1953, it is affiliated with St. Gabriel's Primary School and Catholic Junior College. It is one of the seven institutions governed by St Gabriel's Foundation, as well as one of the seven Gabrielite schools in Singapore. History St. Gabriel's School opened its doors on 3 June 1953 (costing S$175,000 with a government contribution of S$71,000) and stood at the junction of Hillside Drive and Upper Serangoon Road. Under the supervision of the founder Reverend Brother Louis Gonzaga and seven pioneer teachers, the school accepted 212 pupils for its first intake, consisting of only five classes: two of Primary 1, one each of Primary 2, Standard 1 and Standard 2. Serangoon
Serangoon ( ) is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. Serangoon is bordered by these planning areas – Sengkang to the north, Hougang to the east, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan to the west, as well as Toa Payoh to the south. Presbyterian High School
Presbyterian High School is a co-educational government-aided Presbyterian secondary school in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. It is located directly opposite Yio Chu Kang MRT station. History Li Sun High School In 1960, under the vision and conviction of founding father, Reverend Alan S. Moore Anderson, the Presbyterian Synod passed the resolution to start a God-centred institution of learning and Li Sun High School was thus founded in 1965 at Upper Serangoon Road. Gerald Koh (许国欢, born 19 September 1984), better known by his stage name Boy Thunder, is a Singaporean radio personality. Indra Sahdan bin Daud (born 5 March 1979) is a former Singapore international footballer who played as a forward. This is a list of primary schools in Singapore. Children typically start their primary education in the year they turn seven. Primary education lasts six years, and is compulsory for all Singapore citizens. Primary schools in Singapore are either classified as Government or Government-aided schools. Primary schools are typically mixed-sex, though there are a number of single-sex schools. Some primary schools are affiliated with a secondary school, and such schools have a lower requirement for students from the primary section to enter the affiliated secondary school. Montfort Secondary School (MSS) is a government-aided Roman Catholic all-boys' secondary school located in Hougang, Singapore. Founded in 1916, it is one of the seven institutions governed by St Gabriel's Foundation. History Holy Innocents' English School (1916-1958) Montfort Secondary School was founded in 1916 as the Holy Innocents' English School, next to Nativity Church in Upper Serangoon Road, by the parish priest of Serangoon, Father Laurent Saleilles. Assumption English School (AES) is a co-educational government-aided Catholic secondary school in Bukit Panjang, Singapore. It is one of the seven institutions governed by St Gabriel's Foundation. History AES was founded along Upper Bukit Timah Road in 1953 by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, as one of the three components of Boys' Town, a charity also run by the Montfort Brothers.
