The Sri Lankan cricket team toured Bangladesh for cricket matches during the International cricket in 2005-06, 2005–06 season. The Sri Lankans rested many senior players on this tour, like Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan (Muttiah was only left out of the ODI squad) and the captain Marvan Attapatu. The role of the captain for this series was taken over by Mahela Jayawardene. The first match of the One Day International, ODI series was the last game for veteran fast bowler Khaled Mahmud. Mahela Jayawardene
Denagamage Praboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene (; born 27 May 1977) is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer and captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team, Sri Lankan national cricket team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen from Sri Lankan cricket. During the time of his captaincy Jayawardene led his national team to be the winners of the 2008 Asia Cup. Jayawardene was the first Sri Lankan in the history of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup to score a century which he did with his 100 runs against Zimbabwe in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20, 2010 tournament. Khaled Mahmud
Khaled Mahmud Sujon (born 26 July 1971) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer and current head coach of Dhaka Capitals.He is also a former Test and One Day International captain. A medium-pace bowler and middle-order batsman, he played international cricket for Bangladesh from 1998 to 2006, captaining the team from 2003 to 2004. Sajeewa Weerakoon (born 17 February 1978), is a former Sri Lankan One Day International cricketer. He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Domestic career He has played for Burgher Recreation Club and Galle Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He made his Twenty20 debut on 17 August 2004, for Burgher Recreation Club in the 2004 SLC Twenty20 Tournament. Thilan Samaraweera
Thilan Thusara Samaraweera (; born 22 September 1976) is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer. Samaraweera played international cricket for Sri Lanka. Known as Sri Lanka's crisis man and for his slow strike rate, He is also nicknamed “Bullet Samaraweera" following his wounding during the 2009 terror attack on his national team bus in Pakistan. Kariyawasam Tirana Gamage Dhammika Prasad (; born 30 May 1983), or simply Dhammika Prasad, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and coach. He was most recently bowling coach of the Nepal national cricket team. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Jehan Mubarak (; born 10 January 1981) is an American-born former professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who played all formats of the game. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm offbreak bowler. Chamara Kantha Kapugedera (, born 24 February 1987), commonly Chamara Kapugedera, is a former international Sri Lankan cricketer who played all formats of the game, and was a former One Day International captain.
