Spalding () is a market town on the River Welland in the South Holland, Lincolnshire, South Holland district of Lincolnshire, England. The main town had a population of 30,556 at the 2021 census. The town is the administrative centre of the South Holland District. The town is located between the cities of Peterborough and Lincoln, England, Lincoln. The town was well known for the annual Spalding Flower Parade, held from 1959 to 2013. The parade celebrated the region's vast tulip production and the cultural links between the Fens and the landscape and people of South Holland. At one time, it attracted crowds of more than 100,000. Since 2002 the town has held an annual pumpkin festival in October. In 2023 a new flower parade was organised by former councillor Steve Timewell. As well as the Flower Parade Spalding Round Table also host Spalding Festival. The civil parish population was 5,153 at the 2001 census, 5,455 at the 2011 census and 6,011 at the 2021 census. It is situated north from the centre of Spalding, Lincolnshire, Spalding. The name Pinchbeck is derived from either the Old English ''pinc+bece'' (Minnow Stream) or ''pinca+bece'' (Finch Ridge). A family long associated with the area took its name from the village, one member of which was Christopher Pinchbeck, a watchmaker responsible for the invention of the Pinchbeck (alloy), Pinchbeck alloy, which was once used for imitating gold in cheap jewellery. The Anglican village church is dedicated to Saint Mary, and is around 900 years old.
