Victoria Police Special Operations Group
The Special Operations Group (SOG) is the police tactical group of the Victoria Police. The SOG was Australia's first full time and dedicated police tactical group when it formed in 1977. History The SOG was formed in secrecy on 31 October 1977 by Chief Commissioner Mick Miller (police officer), Mick Miller to establish a group to conduct special operations in regard to counter terrorism that would be directed towards preventative/protective security and combatting operations. ''Terrorism'' meaning politically motivated criminal activity as well as other forms of criminal activity which terrorise innocent persons. Canadian Special Operations Forces Command
Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM; ) is a command of the Canadian Armed Forces. It is responsible for all special forces operations that respond to terrorism and threats to Canadians and Canadian interests around the world. CANSOFCOM's primary mission is counter-terrorism, which involves conducting rigorous and specialized training and working with local law enforcement agencies, as required, to protect Canadians from the threat of terrorism. The Swedish Special Operations Task Group ( (''SOG''), ), is a special forces unit within the Swedish Armed Forces which has been active since 2011. Naval Special Operations Command
The Naval Special Operations Command (NAVSOCOM) is a separate command of the Philippine Navy trained in special operations, sabotage, psychological warfare, psychological and unconventional warfare and is heavily influenced by the United States Navy SEALs. NAVSOCOM is headquartered at Naval Base Heracleo Alano Sangley Point, Cavite City. It has eleven units located across the Philippines, from Naval Operating Base San Vicente at Santa Ana, Cagayan in the north to Naval Station Zamboanga City, Zamboanga in the south. The Grupo de Operaciones Especiales (GOPES) () was the police tactical unit of the Federal Police of Mexico. In October 2019, the Federal Police were disbanded, and its personnel and equipment were transferred to the newly formed National Guard. The is the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force's special forces unit, established on March 27, 2004. Their mission is infiltration into enemy territory, reconnaissance, sabotage, and hostage rescue, and conducting military operations against guerrillas or enemy commandos. The unit is based in Camp Narashino in Funabashi, Chiba, along with the 1st Airborne Brigade. The SFGp has been referred to as Japan's Delta Force, due to their specialized role in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. The initial operators trained with the U.S. Army's Delta Force. The Raggruppamento Operativo Speciale (ROS), or Special Operations Group, is part of the Italian Carabinieri. History Founded on 3 December 1990 to coordinate investigative activities against organized crime, it is now the main investigative arm of the Carabinieri, dealing with organized crime and mafia.
