The Royal Spanish Handball Federation (, RFEBM) is the national handball association in Spain. It is a member of the European Handball Federation (EHF) and the International Handball Federation (IHF). The organisation is responsible for the indoor handball national teams (Spain men's national handball team, men's and Spain women's national handball team, women's), and the beach handball national teams (Spain men's national beach handball team, men's and Spain women's national beach handball team, women's). 2017 Men's Junior World Handball Championship
The 2017 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 21st edition of the tournament, held in Algiers, Algeria from 18 to 30 July 2017. It was the first time that Algeria staged the competition, and the third time that it was held in Africa. Spain won their first title by defeating Denmark 39–38 in the final. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. Handball In Spain
The Spanish handball league is divided into divisions. The top teams play in the Liga ASOBAL. In each division, a team plays all other teams twice, once at home and once away. The Spanish league teams compete in Europe under the European Handball Federation, most notably in the EHF Champions League.
