Southwest Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Southwest Conference women's basketball tournament, also called the SWC Classic, was the conference championship tournament in women's basketball for the Southwest Conference. The tournament was held annually between 1983 and 1996, after which the Southwest Conference was dissolved. The winner of the tournament was guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, NCAA basketball tournament each year. In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). 1985–86 Texas Longhorns Women's Basketball Team
The 1985–86 Texas Longhorns women's basketball team represents the University of Texas at Austin in the 1985–86 college basketball season. It was head coach Jody Conradt's tenth season at Texas. Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament is the championship women's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top four seeds getting bye (sports), byes in the first round until 2011. Beginning in 2012 the bottom four teams play First Round games to advance to the Quarterfinals against the top six teams. Seeding is based on regular season records. The Tournament has been held every year since 1997, except in 2020 when it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, coronavirus pandemic. The Texas A&M Aggies women's basketball team represents Texas A&M University (TAMU) in NCAA Division I women's basketball. The team is coached by Joni Taylor, entering her first season; she replaced Gary Blair, who retired after 37 years as a collegiate head coach, 19 of which were with TAMU.
