Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the Southern Conference's (SoCon) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1951–52 season. Fred Hetzel of Davidson is the only player to have won the award three times (1963–1965). Sixteen other players have won the award twice, most recently done by Isaiah Miller of UNC Greensboro (2020, 2021). Hot Rod Hundley
Rodney Clark "Hot Rod" Hundley (October 26, 1934 – March 27, 2015) was an American professional basketball player and television broadcaster. Hundley played college basketball for the West Virginia Mountaineers and was selected by the Cincinnati Royals with the first overall pick of the 1957 NBA draft. In 2003, Hundley received the Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Hundley's life revolved around the game of basketball. His love and talent for the game led him to achieve honors in high school and most notably during his college years. Andrew Darius Goudelock (born December 7, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Kolossos Rodou of the Greek Basketball League (GBL). Noah Dahlman (born April 4, 1989) is an American retired professional basketball player who last played for the Gifu Swoops of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball at Wofford College, where he was an All-American. Ronald Carter Jr. (born August 31, 1956) is an American former basketball shooting guard. He played college basketball for the VMI Keydets. Early years Carter attended Perry Traditional Academy. Michael Alvin Maloy (May 10, 1949 – February 3, 2009) was an American-Austrian professional basketball player who played in the ABA and in Austria in the OBB. He was an All-American college basketball player for the Davidson Wildcats.
