South Carolina Gamecocks Men's Golf
The South Carolina Gamecocks men's golf team represents the University of South Carolina and competes in the Southeastern Conference in Division I of the NCAA. Major team victories include the 1964 ACC Championship, the 1991 Metro Conference Championship, and the 2007 NCAA West Regional Championship. The Gamecocks also had runner-up finishes in the 1968 ACC Championship; the 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, and 1990 Metro Conference Championships; and the 1998, 2008, 2013, and 2015 SEC Championships. Under the guidance of head coach Bill McDonald, the South Carolina men's golf program has won or shared 21 tournament titles and made seven NCAA championship appearances. Last season the Gamecocks finished ninth at the NCAA Championship and matched the school record of nine top-five finishes in 12 events, including three tournament wins. The Mexico Championship is a golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour. It was first played in May 2013 at the El Bosque Country Club in León, Mexico. The Mexican Open had been a Web.com Tour event from 2008 to 2012, and was played at El Bosque the last four of these years. RBC Heritage
The RBC Heritage, known for much of its history as the Heritage Classic or simply The Heritage, is a PGA Tour event in South Carolina, first played in 1969. It is currently played in mid-April, the week after The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. The venue for its entire existence has been the Harbour Town Golf Links at the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island. The Harbour Town course, which frequently appears on several "Best Courses" lists, was designed by famed golf course architect Pete Dye, with assistance from Jack Nicklaus. In 1972, the first two rounds were played on both the Harbour Town Golf Links and the Ocean course at Sea Pines, with the final two rounds at Harbour Town. Wesley Bryan
Donald Wesley Bryan (born March 26, 1990) is an American professional golfer and YouTuber who played on the PGA Tour. Early life Bryan attended Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina. The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour. It is currently played at Thornblade Club (host course) in Greer, South Carolina and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina. From 1992 to 2000, the event was played at Verdae Greens Golf Club in Greenville. When the event changed to a pro-am format in 2001, it moved to The Cliffs in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, using the Valley and Keowee Vineyards courses. The Walnut Cove course was added in 2005. In 2008, the tournament shifted to three different courses: Thornblade Club, Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Bright's Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring, North Carolina. The Madeira Islands Open was a men's professional golf tournament on the European Tour played from 1993 to 2015 on Madeira, an autonomous region of Portugal. James Ian Morrison (born 24 January 1985) is an English professional golfer. Early life Morrison attended Reed's School. He played in the same England youth cricket teams as Alastair Cook, Ravi Bopara and Tim Bresnan, with whom he remains friends. Florian Fritsch (born 29 October 1985) is a German professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. Career Fritsch was born in Munich, Germany, and attended the University of South Carolina in the United States, graduating in 2008. He won the 1986 Southern Open on the PGA Tour and the 1989 South African Open. Early life Wadsworth was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. Kyle Thompson
Kyle Adam Thompson (born April 25, 1979) is an American former professional golfer. Professional career Thompson is a former member of the PGA Tour. He played on the PGA Tour in 2018, 2012 and 2008, failing to keep his card each time. Thompson was a member of the Nationwide Tour from 2003 to 2007.
