South African Cricket Team In India In 1991–92
The South African cricket team toured India in the 1991–92 season. The tour was significant in that it was South Africa's first official international cricket series since their suspension from the sport in 1970 due to the apartheid policy. The tour consisted of a series of three One Day International (ODI) matches against the Indian national team and were the first-ever official ODIs played by South Africa. India won the series 2–1, and the Men of the Series were Sanjay Manjrekar of India and Kepler Wessels of South Africa. Mohammad Azharuddin
Mohammad Azharuddin (born 8 February 1963) is an Indian politician and a former cricketer who also served as the Indian national cricket team's captain. He was a right-handed middle order batter and an occasional medium fast bowler. He played 99 Test matches and 334 One Day Internationals for India. As a captain, he led the team to wins in the 1990-91 and 1995 Asia Cups and reached the semi-finals of the 1996 Cricket World Cup. He was considered as one of the best ODI batsmen in the world and one of the greatest of his era. He captained India in three Cricket World Cups, the most by any Indian captain, all during the 1990s. He was also a part of the Indian squad which won the 1985 World Championship of Cricket. Adrian Kuiper
Adrian Paul Kuiper (born 24 August 1959) is a former South African international cricketer who played in one international Test match and 25 One Day Internationals between 1991 and 1996. Kuiper is now a farmer at Elgin, near Grabouw in the Western Cape. Domestic career Kuiper was a middle-order batsman and medium paced bowler who began with Western Province B in 1977 before graduating to the Western Province A cricket team. Peter Kirsten
Peter Noel Kirsten (born 14 May 1955) is a former cricketer who represented South Africa in 12 Test matches and 40 One Day Internationals from 1991 to 1994. He is the current coach of the Ugandan national side, having been appointed in August 2014. Cricket career Kirsten first attended Selborne Primary in East London, and in 1966 scored his first century at the age of ten. In 1967 the family moved to Cape Town and Kirsten was enrolled at the oldest school in the country, South African College School, also known as SACS. Kirsten represented Western Province at schools level in both rugby (Craven Week 1972–73) and cricket (Nuffield Week 1971-72-73). Clive Eksteen
Clive Edward Eksteen (born 2 December 1966) played seven Test matches and six One Day Internationals for South Africa. In sixteen seasons at Transvaal (later Gauteng) he took 398 wickets at 30.05, also captaining the team for three seasons. In March 2018 Eksteen was one of two Cricket South Africa (CSA) officials who were suspended after posing for a photograph with fans wearing Sonny Bill Williams masks in Port Elizabeth during the second Test between the Proteas and Australia. The masks appeared following a series of incidents involving David Warner and the South African cricket team and cricket fans in South Africa. Jimmy Cook
Stephen James Cook (born 31 July 1953) is a former South African association football and cricketer who played in three cricket Test matches and four One Day Internationals from 1991 to 1993. His son Stephen Cook played for Gauteng and the national side, the Proteas. He holds the unique distinction of having faced the first ball of South Africa's international cricket match since readmission. Career He played football for Wits University while studying for a teaching degree in the late seventies and featured in the 1978 Mainstay Cup Final. Dilip Vengsarkar
Dilip Balwant Vengsarkar (born 6 April 1956) is a former Indian cricketer and a cricket administrator. He was considered to have a very good drive. Along with Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Viswanath, he was a key player in the Indian batting line up in the late 70s and early 80s. He was a member of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Vengsarkar also led the national side to 1988 Asia Cup victory. Javagal Srinath (, born 31 August 1969) is a former Indian cricketer and currently an ICC match referee. He is considered among India's finest fast bowlers and is the only Indian fast bowler till date to have taken more than 300 wickets in One Day Internationals. Krishnamachari "Kris" Srikkanth (; ; born 21 December 1959), also known as Cheeka, is an Indian former cricketer and coach. He also serves as a cricket commentator. Navjot Singh Sidhu (born 20 October 1963) is an Indian former cricketer, television personality and politician from the Indian National Congress.
