South Africa's Minister In The Presidency For National Planning
The National Planning Commission of South Africa is a South African government agency established in May 2010, responsible for strategic planning for the country. The head of the commission reports to the President, and works with various ministries to co-ordinate joint priority projects that require a multifaceted approach. Trevor Manuel was appointed the first head of the commission by President Jacob Zuma. The commission is chaired by the Minister in the Presidency, heading a panel of "external experts". To avoid turf wars, it will not include Ministers. In June 2014, then Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa, was appointed as the Chairman of the Commission with Minister in the Presidency Jeff Radebe as his deputy. Union Buildings
The Union Buildings ( af, Uniegebou) form the official seat of the South African Government and also house the offices of the President of South Africa. The imposing buildings are located in Pretoria, atop Meintjieskop at the northern end of Arcadia, close to historic Church Square and the Voortrekker Monument. The large gardens of the Buildings are nestled between Government Avenue, Vermeulen Street East, Church Street, the R104 and Blackwood Street. Fairview Avenue is a closed road through which only officials can enter the Union Buildings. Though not in the centre of Pretoria, the Union Buildings occupy the highest point of Pretoria, and constitute a South African national heritage site. Mondli Gungubele (born 1 February 1957) is a South African politician, trade union leader and educator who is the current Minister in the Presidency and a member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the African National Congress. He previously served as Executive Mayor of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (2010–2016), as Deputy Minister of Finance (2018–2019) and as Chairperson of the Social Development Committee (2019–2021). Early life and education Gungubele was born on 1 February 1957. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in law as well as a National Diploma in Nursing.
