Sophie O'Sullivan
Sophie O'Sullivan (born 2001) is an Australian-born Irish athlete. She won a silver medal in the 800 metres at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Győr, Hungary. O'Sullivan won 1500 metres gold at the European Athletics U23 Championships, 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo, Finland. She represents the Washington Huskies at the University of Washington in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA track and field competitions. In 2025, she won the NCCA outdoor 1500 m championships in Eugene, Oregon in her final race as a Washington Husky. Life Sophie is the daughter of Irish World champion and Olympic Silver medallist Sonia O'Sullivan, and Australian track and field coach Nic Bideau. She has one sister, Ciara. Washington Huskies
The Washington Huskies are the college athletics in the United States, intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Washington, located in Seattle. The school competes at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I level as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Washington students, sports teams, and alumni are called husky, Huskies. The husky was selected as the school mascot by the Associated Students of UW in 1922. Sarah Healy
Sarah Healy (born 13 February 2001 in Monkstown, Dublin) is an Irish middle-distance runner. She is the 2025 European Indoor 3000 m champion. Career She won gold for the 1500m and 3000m at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Győr, Hungary. Healy won silver in the 1500m the following year at the European U20s. She won the Irish National Cross Country Championships in November 2022. In 2023 she was a member of the M11 Track club, run by Trevor Painter and Jenny Meadows. In June 2023, she won the 1500m race at the Paavo Nurmi Games. In August 2023, Healy qualified for the semi-finals of the 2023 World Athletics Championships – Women's 1500 metres. Maia Ramsden
Maia Ramsden (born 23 March 2002) is a track and field and cross-country athlete from New Zealand. Early and personal life Ramsden was born in New York to Mark and Margot Ramsden. Her father had a career in foreign affairs for the New Zealand Government, and was assigned to the United Nations at the time of her birth. From the age of three, she was raised in Wellington, New Zealand. She also studied at International Schools in Suva, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Addis Ababa. Carley Thomas
Carley Thomas (born 26 December 2000) is an Australian athlete. She placed 37th in the women's 800 metres event at the 2019 World Athletics Championships. Thomas earned silver medals at 4x400m (3:31.36) and 800m (2:01.13) at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Finland. Thomas won the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games gold medals in the 800-meters and the mixed 4x400m where they set Oceana area age group record. Distance Medley Relay
The distance medley relay (DMR) is an athletic event in which four athletes compete as part of a relay. With its inclusion in the IAAF World Relays program, the IAAF announced on May 1, 2015 that the event would be an official world record event. Unlike most track relays, each member of the team runs a different distance. A distance medley relay is made up of a 1200-meter leg (three laps on a standard 400 meter track), a 400-meter leg (one lap), an 800-meter leg (two laps), and a 1600-meter leg (four laps) in that order. The total distance run is 4000 meters, or nearly 2.5 miles. Aside from the 400 meter segment, which is a sprint, all legs are a middle distance run. Prior to going metric, the distance medley relay consisted of a 440-yard leg, an 880-yard leg, a 1320-yard leg and a one-mile leg.
