''Something to Shout About'' is Lulu (singer), Lulu's first UK Gramophone record, LP, released on the Decca Records label in 1965. Most of the songs are recorded in an R&B, early rock and roll style that complemented her mature and raspy voice. It was released when she was just seventeen. The album contained Lulu's debut hit "Shout", which reached #7 in the UK Singles Chart. Jimmy Page played guitar on some of the tracks, including "I'll Come Running Over" and "Surprise, Surprise". "Here Comes the Night" was recorded in 1964 by Them (band), Them and would later be covered by David Bowie on his 1973 album ''Pin Ups''. The album was produced by Peter Sullivan and "directed" by Mike Leander and Reg Guest. The album was reissued on CD in 1989 by London Records. ''Something to Shout About'' is a 1943 Columbia Pictures musical film directed by Gregory Ratoff. The film stars Don Ameche and Janet Blair, and was nominated for two Academy Awards. The film's sets were designed by the art director Nicolai Remisoff. Plot The film takes place behind the scenes of a fictional vaudeville play. The story centers on a recently divorced wealth woman (Cobina Wright, Jr.) who used to be a small time entertainer and decides to use part of her alimony settlement to produce and star in her own show. Unfortunately, she is not a accomplished singer, dancer or performer. Her publicity agent (Don Ameche) and she get arrested and are put in a small town jail as a publicity hoax. A very talented and unknown song writer (Janet Blair) is tricked into taking her place in the show. It backfires as she is released and shows up at the theater. The show is a bomb and closes.
