Sloan (band)
Sloan is a Canadian rock music, rock band formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1991. Sloan has released thirteen full-length albums and has received nine Juno Award nominations, winning one. Between 1996 and 2016, Sloan was among the top 75 best-selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada. The band is known for their sharing of songwriting and lead vocals from each member of the group and their unaltered line-up throughout their career. Although formed in Halifax, the band is now based out of Toronto. Sloan Lake, also known as Sloan's Lake and Sloans Lake, is a body of water, park, and neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. The neighborhood is located on the northwest side of Denver, with the lake acting as a central feature of the neighborhood. Sloan Peak
Sloan Peak is a mountain in the North Cascades of Washington state. It rises about east of Everett, Washington and 12 miles southwest of Glacier Peak, one of the Cascade stratovolcanoes. It is located between the north and south forks of Sauk River, in the Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest. The summit is situated about east of the Mountain Loop Highway. Sloan Peak has been called the "Matterhorn of the Cascades" for its sharp, high peak, which is accentuated by its impressive local relief and its isolated position west of the Cascade crest. It is easily visible from many locations in the North Cascades. On both the east and southwest sides, Sloan's summit rises more than one vertical mile (1.6 km) above the valley floor in less than two horizontal miles (3.2 km). Sloan Site
The Sloan Site is an archaeological site near Crowley’s Ridge in Arkansas which is recognized for being among the oldest documented cemeteries in the New World. Location The cemetery site is located on a late Ice Age sand dune in Greene County, Arkansas between Crowley's Ridge and the Ozarks. The exact location is not available to prevent degradation of the site from visitors due to past vandalism. Discovery The excavation site measured 12 meters by 12 meters and contained Paleo-Indian Dalton graves with bone fragments and artifacts. The bone fragments date between 12,480 and 11,300 years ago. Mary Ann Sloan, a student at nearby Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas first recorded the site in June of 1968 for an archeology course. Mount Sloan is a mountain summit located in British Columbia, Canada. Description Mount Sloan is the sixth-highest peak in the Thiassi Range which is a subrange of the Coast Mountains. The remote mountain is situated north of Pemberton and west of the historic gold-mining community of Bralorne. Precipitation runoff from the peak drains north to Downton Lake which is a reservoir of the Bridge River.
