Skateboarding Spots
A skate spot is a location used for skateboarding. A range of locations qualify as skate spots, as any area where one can ride their skateboard can be considered a skate spot. From the flat ground basketball courts at Thompkins Square Park to the large concrete ledges of Hubba Hideout, skate spots exist in every shape in every city. Not all skate spots last forever. In some instances, the local skateboarding community rallies together to attempt to save a treasured skate spot, such as with the Brooklyn Banks. Skate spots are sometimes turned into DIY skateparks when skateboarders bring in obstacles and cement to make their own terrain. Skateboarding is an extreme sport, action sport that involves riding and Skateboarding trick, performing tricks using a skateboard, as well as a recreational activity, an art form, an entertainment industry Profession, job, and a method of transportation. EZ-7
EZ-7 is a famous skate-spot located in Houston, Texas, USA. The EZ-7 is easily recognized by its large amount of graffiti covering the drainage ditch. As described in a 1985 article: It is actually a drainage ditch located in northwestern Houston. It has been used by skateboarders since the early 1970s and has gained in popularity. Eventually a skate park, named the Watonga Skate Park was built on the adjacent property as part of Watonga Park. Wallenberg Set
The Wallenberg Set, also known as the Wallenberg Four or simply Wallenberg, is a popular location in the skateboarding community. Located at the Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School in San Francisco, California, it consists of four tiers of pavement and curbing, adjacent to a stairway and next to a parking area. The section notable for skateboarding measures in height and in length. Since becoming notable, the school has re-profiled the "run up" to the set, and it is no longer possible to use adjacent Vega Street to gain speed in order to jump the entire set; speed has to be obtained from a ramp, roll in, or by some other form. The Rom
The Rom is a Grade II listed skatepark in Hornchurch, East London, England. Built in 1978 and designed by Adrian Rolt of G-Force, it is the most completely preserved purpose-built skatepark in England. It is the first skatepark in Europe to achieve listed status and the second such structure worldwide. History The Rom was built and opened in August 1978 and named after the adjacent River Rom. Nude Bowl
The Nude Bowl was a popular skateboarding locale from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. The name comes from the fact that the site was once a naturist resort named "Desert Gardens Ranch." It is outside Desert Hot Springs, California and consists of an abandoned kidney bean shaped swimming pool and a few foundations of buildings that used to surround the area. There is no paved road to the Nude Bowl. Initially, the Nude Bowl was merely a skateboarding party location, but by the 1990s, large parties and violence became commonplace there. After numerous complaints about guns and fighting around the Nude Bowl, the police filled it in with dirt. Skateboarders returned, removed the dirt, and repaired the bowl. After a few months, the police broke up the concrete and buried the remains of the bowl, but the pool was later excavated and repaired. Love Park
LOVE Park, officially known as John F. Kennedy Plaza, is a public park located in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The park is across from the Philadelphia City Hall and serves as a visual terminus for the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Harrow Skate Park or Harrow Solid Surf is one of only two remaining 1970's shotcrete skateparks still operating in the United Kingdom. It is located next to Byron Park and Harrow Leisure Centre in Wealdstone in the London Borough of Harrow, England. The Embarcadero (Spanish language, Spanish for "Embarkment") is the eastern waterfront of Port of San Francisco and a major roadway in San Francisco, California. El Toro High School is a public high school in Lake Forest, California, United States. It is one of five high schools in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) and serves Lake Forest as well as its district of Portola Hills and a small portion of east Irvine and northern Mission Viejo.
