Sibylle Lewitscharoff (; 16 April 1954 – 13 May 2023) was a German author. She first wrote in her spare time as a bookkeeper, quitting after her first novel, ''Pong'', appeared in 1998. Sibylle Günter (born 20 April 1964) is a German theoretical physicist researching tokamak plasmas. Since February 2011, she has headed the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics. In 1956 she founded the East German arts and fashion magazine which bore her name, '' Sibylle'', working with the publication as its editor in chief till 1961. Life Early years Sibylle Boden was born in Breslau (since 1945 known as Wroclaw) into a German-Jewish family. Her father was a furrier and merchant who probably later died in a Silesian prison during the Shoah. Her mother was a businesswoman.
