Shawn Solomito
Shawn Solomito (born February 14, 1989) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competed in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour from 2011 to 2018. He is the older brother of fellow driver Timmy Solomito, who currently competes part-time in the Modified Tour. Solomito grew up racing at the Riverhead Raceway, where he is a two-time track champion in the tracks premier modified division. The 2018 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the thirty-fourth season of the Whelen Modified Tour (WMT), a stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Performance Plus 150 presented by Safety-Kleen at Myrtle Beach Speedway on 17 March and concluded with the Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on 14 October. Doug Coby entered the season as the defending Drivers' champion. 2018 marked the second season of the unification of the Whelen (Northern) Modified Tour and the Whelen Southern Modified Tour. The Oswego Speedway is a 5/8 mile race track in Oswego, New York. It was built in 1951 and was paved with asphalt since the 1952. The 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is the 30th season of the Whelen Modified Tour (WMT). It began with the UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona International Speedway on February 18, which did not count towards the championship. The first race for the championship was the Icebreaker 150 presented by Town Fair Tire at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 6. It ended with the Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson again on October 19. Ryan Preece entered the season as the defending Drivers' Champion. 2012 champion Doug Coby won the 2014 championship after 13 races, 22 points ahead of Preece. Preece won the last race, which meant he went from sixth to second in the championship.
