Sharon Weinberger
Sharon Weinberger is an American journalist and writer on defense and security issues. She is a Carnegie/Newhouse School Legal Reporting Fellow where her "project will examine a legally murky intersection between ethics and fraud in military contracting". Starting in Autumn, 2009 she became an International Reporting Project fellow at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Education and early career Weinberger holds a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, where she was elected to the prestigious honor society Phi Beta Kappa, and M.A.'s from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in International Affairs and from Yale University in Russian and East European Studies. Valencia
Valencia ( va, València) is the capital of the autonomous community of Valencia and the third-most populated municipality in Spain, with 791,413 inhabitants. Nuclear Isomer
A nuclear isomer is a metastable state of an atomic nucleus, in which one or more nucleons (protons or neutrons) occupy higher energy levels than in the ground state of the same nucleus. "Metastable" describes nuclei whose excited states have half-lives 100 to 1000 times longer than the half-lives of the excited nuclear states that decay with a "prompt" half life (ordinarily on the order of 10−12 seconds). The term "metastable" is usually restricted to isomers with half-lives of 10−9 seconds or longer. Some references recommend 5 × 10−9 seconds to distinguish the metastable half life from the normal "prompt" gamma-emission half-life. Occasionally the half-lives are far longer than this and can last minutes, hours, or years. Amir-Abbas Fakhravar
Amir-Abbas Fakhravar ( fa, امیرعباس فخرآور), research fellow and visiting lecturer at the Center for the Study of Culture and Security at The Institute of World Politics, is an Iranian dissident. Fakhravar served as the Secretary General of the Confederation of Iranian Students and President of the "Iranian Freedom Institute" in Washington, D.C. Ghost imaging (also called "coincidence imaging", "two-photon imaging" or "correlated-photon imaging") is a technique that produces an image of an object by combining information from two light detectors: a conventional, ''multi-pixel'' detector that ''doesn't'' view the object, and a ''single-pixel'' (bucket) detector that ''does'' view the object. The Knight Center for Specialized Journalism is a national program which that since 1987 has offered seminars for print, broadcast and online reporters, editors and editorial writers. At these seminars, journalists receive in-depth training in subjects related to their coverage—law, health, science, society, demographics, national and international affairs. Applications are sought from reporters and editors working for independent news organizations as well as from independent online and citizen journalists. The Knight Center is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and is affiliated with the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
