Shakey's V-League 10th Season 2nd Conference
The Shakey's V-League 10th Season Open Conference was the nineteenth conference of the Shakey's V-League, commenced on August 18, 2013, at the Filoil Flying V Centre, San Juan with 8 teams competing in the conference. Participating teams Tournament format Preliminaries Eight (8) competing teams had a Single Round-robin. Top six (6) teams qualified for the Quarterfinals. Quarterfinals The top six (6) teams battled for the top four (4) spots in a Single Round-robin with their scores from the preliminaries carried over, minus the ones won over the eliminated teams. Semi-finals The four (4) semi-finalists will compete against each other in a best-of-three series as follows: Rank #1 vs Rank #4 and Rank #2 vs Rank #3. The two (2) SF winners will compete for GOLD. Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns
The Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns were a professional women's volleyball team that played in various tournaments, including the Shakey's V-League and the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). The team was owned by the family of Alvaro Antonio (governor of the Province of Cagayan from 2007 to 2016) and managed by his daughter, Criselda Antonio (the incumbent mayor of Alcala, Cagayan and provincial sports coordinator for the Province of Cagayan), herself, a former volleyball player. The team became inactive since July 2015 due to management issues within the team. Bernadeth Pons (born October 19, 1996) is a Filipino indoor and beach volleyball athlete. She is currently playing for the Creamline Cool Smashers at the Premier Volleyball League. She played for Petron Tri-Activ Spikers as an outside hitter. Personal life Pons is the eldest in three siblings. She finished with a degree of BS Financial Management at Far Eastern University. Career Pons played with Rafael B Lacson National High School, Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association and the Far Eastern University. Maria Rosario "Charo" Soriano (born October 14, 1985) is a Filipino volleyball player, coach, and politician. Soriano is one of the founders of Beach Volleyball Republic, an outdoor volleyball tournament, and a board member of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation. Grethcel Soltones (sometimes mistakenly named as Gretchel Soltones) (born September 9, 1995) is a Filipina volleyball player for the Petro Gazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League. Suzanne "Sue" Roces (born January 17, 1985), is a Filipino former volleyball player. Career College Sue Roces attended the University of the East for her collegiate studies and played the UE Lady Warriors women's volleyball team in the UAAP. The Philippine National Police Lady Patrollers is the name of the official women's volleyball team of the Philippine National Police that competes in the Shakey's V-League. The team is composed of policewomen and civilian guest players. As part of its sports development and police-community relations advocacy, the PNP established a women's volleyball team that competed in the 2013 (10th) Shakey’s V-League Open Conference Tournament held in San Juan Sports Arena, San Juan City last August 18 to October 22, 2013.
