Shah Farman
Shah Farman (, born March 1965) is a Pakistani politician from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He served as the 32nd Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 5 September 2018 to 16 April 2022. Previously, he was a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from May 2013 to May 2018, and again from August 2018 to September 2018. Early life and education Farman was born in March 1965 in Badaber, a village located in the Peshawar District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and he has earned his Bachelor of Laws, LLB from the Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar. Political career Farman has been associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since at least 1998. He had been a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from 2013 to 2018. The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as Governor of North-West Frontier Province) is the appointed head of state of the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly North-West Frontier Province, or NWFP), Pakistan. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a political party in Pakistan established in 1996 by cricketer and politician Imran Khan, who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. The party is led by Gohar Ali Khan since late 2023. The PTI ranks among the three major List of political parties in Pakistan, Pakistani political parties alongside the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML–N) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). 2018 Pakistani Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Pakistan on 4 September 2018. The elections saw Arif Alvi of PTI being elected as the 13th president of Pakistan after defeating Fazal-ur-Rehman of MMA and Aitzaz Ahsan of PPP. Although incumbent president Mamnoon Hussain, whose term was to expire on 9 September 2018, was eligible for re-election, he declined to take part. The PTI-led government coalition nominated a founding member of the party Arif Alvi, right after a week of the announcement of the official victory of PTI in the general elections. 2018 Pakistani General Election
General elections were held in Pakistan on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by Imran Khan, the Pakistan Muslim League, led by Shehbaz Sharif, and the Pakistan People's Party, led by Bilawal Bhutto.
