Seznam.cz (or Seznam, ''list'' in Czech) is a web portal and search engine in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1996 by Ivo Lukačovič in Prague as the first web portal in the Czech Republic. Seznam started with a search engine and an internet version of yellow pages. Today, Seznam runs almost 30 different web services and associated brands. Seznam had more than 6 million real users per month at the end of 2014. Among the most popular services, according to NetMonitor, are its homepage seznam.cz, email.cz, search.seznam.cz and its yellow pages firmy.cz. In 2008, Seznam.cz was the most used search engine in the Czech Republic. Ivo Lukačovič
Ivo Lukačovič (born February 7, 1974, in Prague) is a Czech entrepreneur, founder and chairman of Seznam.cz, an Internet portal in the Czech Republic. According to ''Forbes'' magazine, he is the 11th richest person in the Czech Republic, with assets of around $1.3 billion. Biography Lukačovič was born in Prague and studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague, but discontinued his studies after seven years. In 1995, he began writing code for a web directory (in Perl) and has since run the directory at Seznam.cz. since 1996. In 2011, he founded Citationtech, which creates 3D maps from aerial images. Televize Seznam (Seznam.cz TV) is a Czech full-format commercial television station offering nationwide broadcasting in the Czech Republic. Its director is Ivan Mikula, the operator of Seznam.cz is Ivo Lukačovič. It started broadcasting on January 12, 2018, at 7:00 a.m. and focuses mainly on documentaries, series and films, while also offering programs of its own creation originally broadcast on Seznam Zprávách or on its website.
