Sexion D'Assaut Discography
Sexion d'Assaut (French pronunciation: ɛksjɔ̃ daso, formerly known as 3ème Prototype (for "Troisième Prototype" ʁwɑzjɛm pʁɔtɔtip English: "3rd Prototype"), was a French hip hop band formed in 2002, composed of eight Parisian rappers. They are signed to independent record label Wati B, which is under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment France. The founding members were L.I.O. Pétrodollars, Alpha Diallo, Maska and Lefa. In 2003, it became a collective as Maître Gims and JR joined in. Throughout its existence, it included about 69 rappers, but set-up changed from time to time. The group distinguishes itself of staying away from "bling bling" that other French rappers have adopted. Guy-Hervé Imboua, better known by his stage name H Magnum, is a French rapper of Ivorian origin signed to the LoudSchool Production record label. Guy-Hervé Imboua was born in Yopougon, Ivory Coast, and immigrated at the age of 9 years old to France and resided in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. Sniper (group)
Sniper is a French hip hop band formed in 1997 in Val-d'Oise. It currently consists of Tunisiano (Bachir Baccour), Aketo (Ryad Selmi) and Blacko. Afrikaf (Karl Appela) was also a member when the group formed in 2004. Blacko had left the band in 2007, but had returned in 2016. Beginnings The members of Sniper first met at the 1997 Francofolies festival at La Rochelle. There, DJ Boudj and the three rappers, Aketo, Tunisiano and Blacko, met and decided to form the group, originally called ''Personnalité suspecte'' (Suspicious Character). This name was abbreviated to ''Persni'' and ended up as ''Sniper'', an example of the French slang form, known as ''verlan''. The three members form a complementary group, as Aketo and El Tunisiano have developed more of a rap style and Blacko prefers an approach closer to reggae; meanwhile DJ Boudj takes care of the scratching. Abdel-illa Lamriq, better known as DJ Abdel, is a French Moroccan DJ and record producer playing hip hop, funk and contemporary R&B on major radio stations in France. Delica Landry born 16 March 1977 in Villepinte, Seine-Saint-Denis, Villepinte, better known by his stage name Dry, is a French Rapping, rapper of Congo (area), Congolese origin. He is also known by the aliases "L'Amiral" and "L'Intransférable". Landry Delica grew up in Sevran in Seine-Saint-Denis, outside of Paris, where he was friends with the rapper Nessbeal before moving in 1991 to Orly in the Val-de-Marne. In addition to his solo work, Dry is a member of French rap group Intouchable alongside band member Demon One (real name Hakim Sid). He is also part of the French rap collective Mafia K-1 Fry (sometimes stylized as Mafia K'1 Fry) alongside the other Intouchable member Demon One. "Désolé" (English: "Sorry") is a song by Sexion d'Assaut released on 12 April 2010, from the album ''L'École des points vitaux''. The single reached number one on the Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique, SNEP and became a top-ten hit in France and then the song stayed number one for seven weeks from 2 May to 13 June. Désolé is a gold single. Background and writing Gims, as usual, had several melodies on his cell phone. Among other things, he had that of Désolé. He played it for the composer of the group Wisla, then played it on the piano. He keeps the instrumental, telling himself that he would put it on a mixtape and add shots to it from behind. ''L’Apogée'' is the third official album by French rap group Sexion d'Assaut composed of Maître Gims, Lefa, Barack Adama, Maska, JR O Crom, Black M, Doomams, and L.I.O. Petrodollars. This album was released on 5 March 2012, in stores and available for download. History In November 2011, an unofficial date for the album's release was announced for 20 February 2012 but on 17 December 2011, the official date was unveiled as 5 March 2012. The first title unveiled by the band is "Mets pas celle là", 11 December 2011 (after the 'Welcome To The Wa' video shot in the album's laboratory, an isolated place in Normandy). The second title unveiled on 30 December, 2011 (after the Welcome To The Wa II video) is Gold Disc.
