Lega Basket Femminile (LBF) is the premier national league for women's basketball clubs in Italy, founded in 1930. ASDG Comense 1872, Pool Comense is the competition's most successful club with fifteen championships, followed by AS Vicenza with twelve and Geas Basket with seven, while PF Schio and Taranto Cras Basket, Cras Taranto have been the leading teams in recent years. Currently both the champion and runner-up are granted spots in EuroLeague Women. Palasport Roberta Serradimigni, commonly known as PalaSerradimigni, is a multi-use indoor sporting arena that is located in Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. The arena can be used to host basketball, volleyball, and handball games. The current seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,000. History PalaSerradimigni was officially opened in 1981. The arena originally had a seating capacity of 2,500. In 1992, the seating capacity of the arena was increased to 4,532. In 2005, the arena's parquet flooring was updated and replaced. In 2006, the arena was named after Roberta Serradimigni, who died in a car accident at the age of 32, and who is considered to be one of the best basketball players from Sardinia. In 2009, the protective glass that was around the court was removed, and the retractable hanging baskets were replaced with the new floor level modern regulation baskets. The PalaLeonessa (originally the PalaEIB) is an indoor sports arena that is located in Brescia, Italy. The arena has a seating capacity of 5,200 and is primarily used for basketball. The venue is the home ground of the Italian League professional basketball team Germani Basket Brescia. On 18 June 2018 the new logo of the arena was revealed at Brescia City Hall with the Mayor of the city, Emilio Del Bono, and Graziella Bragaglio, president of the club. Castelnuovo Scrivia is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about east of Turin and about northeast of Alessandria. History The city was fortified around 500 CE by order of Theoderic the Great, king of the Ostrogoths, and in 722 it was enlarged by the Lombard king Liutprand.
