Seong Eun-jeong
Seong Eun-jeong (born 31 October 1999) is a South Korean professional golfer. Before turning professional, she won the 2016 U.S. Women's Amateur. Her win granted her exemptions into several majors on the LPGA Tour from 2016 to 2017. At the 2017 ANA Inspiration, she became the first amateur golfer to score a hole in one at the event. As a professional golfer, Seong won her first professional golf tournament at the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic during the 2018 Symetra Tour. Career As an amateur golfer, Seong participated at events held by the United States Golf Association. She competed at the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur but did not make the cut. The following year, Seong was runner up at the 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. Her first amateur wins came at the U.S. Girls' Junior in 2015 and 2016. Symetra Tour
The Epson Tour, previously known as the LPGA Futures Tour, and known for sponsorship reasons between 2006 and 2010 as the Duramed Futures Tour and between 2012 and 2021 as the Symetra Tour, is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA Tour. Tour membership is open to professional women golfers and to qualified amateurs. History The Futures Tour was founded in Florida in 1981 as the "Tampa Bay Mini Tour". Seong (), also spelled Song or Sung, is an uncommon Korean family name. Overview The family name Seong is written with only one hanja character, meaning "succeed" or "accomplish" (). The 2000 South Korean Census found 167,903 people with this family name, up by six percent from 158,385 in the 1985 census. This increase was far smaller than the fifteen percent growth in the overall Demographics of South Korea, South Korean population over the same period. They traced their origins to only a single ''bon-gwan'', Changnyeong County. This was also the place where they formed the highest concentration of the local population, with 2,360 people (3.61%). In a study by the National Institute of the Korean Language based on 2007 application data for Republic of Korea passport, South Korean passports, it was found that 67.4% of people with this surname spelled it in Latin letters as Sung in their passports.
