Jesús Monge Ramírez (November 9, 1910 – August 9, 1964), better known as Chucho Monge, was a Mexican people, Mexican composer best known for writing traditional Music of Mexico, songs. Born in Morelia, Michoacán, he is the writer of several well-known songs, including "México Lindo y Querido", "La Feria de las Flores", "Pobre Corazón", and "Cartas Marcadas", among others. Monge started his musical career competing against other composers like Agustín Lara and Alfonso Esparza Oteo in waltz composition contests. Later on, he became a radio artist in XEQ-FM, XEQ, XEW-AM, XEW and XEB-AM, XEB stations. "Green Eyes" is a popular song, originally written in Spanish under the title "Aquellos Ojos Verdes" ("Those Green Eyes") by Adolfo Utrera and Nilo Menéndez in 1929. The English translation was made by Eddie Rivera and Eddie Woods in 1931. Spanish version The song, a bolero, was written in 1929 and recorded in Cuba the same year. Nilo Menéndez Barnet (26 September 1902 – 15 September 1987) was a Cuban-born naturalized American songwriter. Born in Matanzas in 1902, Menéndez came to the United States in 1924 when he was 22. He wrote his best known song " Aquellos Ojos Verdes" in 1929 and was recorded several times by Latin artists and translated into English in 1931. The song became a major hit when Jimmy Dorsey recorded it as "Green Eyes" around 1941. Ernesto Lecuona
Ernesto Lecuona y Casado (; August 7, 1895 – November 29, 1963) was a Cuban composer and pianist, many of whose works have become standards of the Latin, jazz and classical repertoires. His over 600 compositions include songs and zarzuelas as well as pieces for piano and symphonic orchestra. In the 1930s, he helped establish a popular band, the Lecuona Cuban Boys, which showcased some of his most successful pieces and was later taken over by Armando Oréfiche. In the 1950s, Lecuona recorded several LPs, including solo piano albums for RCA Victor. He moved to the United States after the 1959 Cuban Revolution, and died in Spain in 1963. Noel Epifanio Estrada Suárez (June 4, 1918 – December 1, 1979) was a Puerto Rican composer. He was the author of " En mi Viejo San Juan", a song "widely known around the world". Early years Estrada was born in the town of Isabela, Puerto Rico where he received his primary education.
