Senior Women's Major Golf Championships
Women's professional senior golf is for female players aged 45 or 50 and above. The leading women's senior tour is the U.S.-based Legends Tour, which was founded in 2000. It has established a roster of two major championships. On the Legends Tour, the minimum age is 45, although with the USGA instituting the new U.S. Senior Women's Open in 2018, it chose a minimum age of 50. Also, the U.S. Senior Women's Open is played over four rounds, whereas the Senior LPGA Championship is played over three rounds. A golfer's performances can be quite variable from one round to the next, so playing an extra round increases the likelihood that the tournament will be won by leading players. Annika Sörenstam
Annika Charlotta Sörenstam (; born 9 October 1970) is a Swedish professional golfer regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. Before stepping away from competitive golf at the end of the 2008 season, she had won 96 international professional tournaments, making her the female golfer with the most wins to her name. She has won 72 official LPGA tournaments including ten women's majors, majors and 24 other tournaments internationally. Jill McGill
Jill McGill (born January 30, 1972) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. McGill was born in Denver, Colorado. She played college golf at the University of Southern California and won the U.S. Women's Amateur title in 1993 and the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links in 1994. She played on the 1994 Curtis Cup team. She turned professional in December 1994. McGill finished tied second at the 1995 Women's British Open, when it was co-sanctioned with the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour, but not yet recognized as a major championship by the LPGA Tour. Karrie Webb
Karrie Anne Webb (born 21 December 1974) is an Australian professional golfer. She plays mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour, and also turns out once or twice a year on the ALPG Tour in her home country. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. Patricia Mary "Trish" Johnson MBE (born 17 January 1966) is an English professional golfer. She won three times on the LPGA Tour and 19 times on the Ladies European Tour.
