The Senegal women's national football team represents Senegal in international women's football. The team is governed by the Senegalese Football Federation. History The Senegal women’s national football team, governed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), was formally organised in the early 2000s to represent the country in international women’s football. Initial efforts to develop the team faced challenges such as limited resources and infrastructure. The establishment of domestic women’s leagues in 2009 and grassroots programs in subsequent years created pathways for player development. The team qualified for its first Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in 2012, held in Equatorial Guinea, but did not advance beyond the group stage. Noxolo Cesane (born 11 October 2000) is a South African soccer player who plays as a midfielder for SAFA Women's League club Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and the South Africa women's national team. 2026 Women's Africa Cup Of Nations Qualification
The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualification is a women's football competition that will determine the 11 teams joining the automatically qualified host Morocco in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final tournament. Format The African qualifiers commenced in February 2025 and will feature two rounds of competition. In the first round, the 32 teams ranked 7th and below played home-and-away two-legged ties. The 16 winners advanced to the second round, where they will be joined by the 6 teams that received a bye. The winners of the 11 second round home-and-away ties will qualify for the final tournament in Morocco. Tiebreakers If the aggregate score is tied after the second leg, the away goals rule will have been applied, and if still tied, a penalty shoot-out will be held (no extra time). Founded in 1960, it joined the Confederation of African Football, CAF in 1963 and has been affiliated with FIFA since 1964. Its first general secretary was Garan Fabou Kouyate.
