Tijs Michiel Verwest (; born 17 January 1969), known professionally as Tiësto ( , ), is a Dutch DJ and record producer. He was voted "The Greatest DJ of All Time" by ''Mix (magazine), Mix'' magazine in a 2010/2011 poll amongst fans. In 2013, he was voted by ''DJ Mag'' readers as the "best DJ of the last 20 years". He is also regarded as the "Godfather of Electronic dance music, EDM" by many sources. John Dirne (born 14 September 1981), better known by his stage name John Christian, is a Dutch DJ, record producer and musician. He has been active since 2012 and is a former student of the Dutch Academy of Music. He was unveiled in January 2013 with his remix of " I Could be the One" which entered the top 100 established by Beatport. He founded his label Freeway Recordings in November 2015. Big room house or simply big room is a fusion subgenre of house music (notably progressive house and electro house) that gained popularity in the early 2010s. Although the term "big room" started appearing in news articles circa 2007, the current state of this subgenre emerged around 2010—12 and was popularized by songs such as "Epic" and " Cannonball". In September 2017, Warner Music Group acquired Spinnin' Records for over $100 million.
