Schloß Vogelöd (1936 Film)
''The Haunted Castle'' () is a 1921 silent mystery film directed by F. W. Murnau. Plot A company of men meet for a hunt lasting several days at Castle Vogelöd, being hosted by Lord von Vogelschrey. Because of the rain they spend their time inside. An uninvited guest shows up: Count Johann Oetsch. He's suspected of having shot his brother Peter a few years ago. This rumour gets nourished by a retired Judge of the District Court. The widow of the murder victim also arrives, along with her new husband, Baron Safferstätt. Another guest is announced: Father Faramund, a friend of the deceased husband. In the following days, Count Oetsch and the Baroness accuse one another of the murder. Flashbacks show that the Baroness' marriage wasn't harmonious. Her first husband became obsessed by spiritualism. Carl Mayer
Carl Mayer (20 November 1894 – 1 July 1944) was an Austrians, Austrian screenwriter. Julius Falkenstein
Julius Falkenstein (25 February 1879 – 9 December 1933) was a German stage and film actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than 180 films between 1914 and 1933. Falkenstein was Jewish, but secured a special permit to continue making films following the Nazi rise to power in 1933. He died of natural causes the same year, having made only one further film. Loni Nest
Eleonore "Loni" Arnault ( Nest, 4 August 1915 – 2 October 1990), known professionally by her maiden name of Loni Nest, was a German actress. Born in Berlin, she was a child star of German silent films in the 1920s. She was filmed for the first time at the age of four weeks. Life and film career After more than 40 movies, she ended her movie career in 1928 at the age of 13. In 1933 she played in one last movie in France. Her whereabouts after 1933 remained unknown for several decades, but it was eventually discovered that she died at the age of 75 on 2 October 1990 in the French town Nice. In 2014, the website Forever Missed published an obituary that ostensibly revealed that Nest had died in Hawaii in 2014 at the age of 98.
