''Scarus spinus'', the Greensnout parrotfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a parrotfish from the Family (biology), family Scaridae.https://fishbase.mnhn.fr/summary/4974 Fishbase Description ''Scarus spinus'' can reach a total length of about 30 cm (in males). These fishes have 10 dorsal soft rays, 3 anal spines and 9 anal soft rays. Males show a bright yellow head underwater, while females are drab with white teeth and some pale spots. Caudal fin is moderately to deeply emarginate in terminal phase. Lips largely cover dental plates. Distribution and habitat This species can be found on Christmas Island and from the Philippines to Samoa, the Ryukyu Islands and the southern Great Barrier Reef. The Greensnout parrotfish inhabits coral-rich areas of outer lagoon and seaward reefs, at a depth range 0 - 30 m. Biology It appears specialized in scraping crustose coralline algae with its jaw. Rudolf Kner
Rudolf Ignaz Kner (24 August 1810 – 27 October 1869) was an Austrian geologist, paleontologist, zoologist and ichthyologist. He also wrote some poems which were published by his brother-in-law K.A. Kaltenbrunner. Biography Kner was born in Linz where his father Johann Evangelist Georg Kner (1763-1845) was a tax officer. His mother Barbara (1770-1825), daughter of forester Johann von Adlersburg was earlier married to apothecary Felix Gulielmo until his death. Barbara had a daughter Marie Gulielmo from her earlier marriage before having Rudolf and his sister Pauline. Pauline Anna Barbara Kner (1809-1843) married the Austrian poet Karl Adam Kaltenbrunner (1804-1867) in 1834. Rudolf studied in the secondary school in Linz from 1818 and the high school from 1821. Fish are aquatic, craniate, gill-bearing animals that lack limbs with digits.
