Santo Antão North Cup
The Santo Antão North Cup is a regional football (soccer) cup competition played during the season in the northern part of Santo Antão Island (consisting of the municipalities of Paul and Ribeira Grande, Cape Verde. The cup tournament is organized by the Santo Antão North Regional Football Association (ARFNSA). The winner (some seasons when a winner is also a champion, a cup finalist) participates in the Santo Antão North Super Cup. For several times, the winner (or a cup finalist if a winner is also champion) participated in the Cape Verdean Cup. The first entrant was in 2007 which was Rosariense and their recent was in 2012 and was Paulense. Since 2013, there were no entrants to the national cup due to financial concerns. From the 2015 edition, the winner qualifies into the Santo Antão Super Cup, a single island cup competition challenging a club from the north. Paul is a '' concelho'' (municipality) of Cape Verde. Situated in the northeastern part of the island of Santo Antão, it covers 7% of the island area (54.3 km2), and is home to 16% of its population (6,997 at the 2010 census). Santo Antão North Premier Division
The Santo Antão North Premier Division is a regional championship played in Ribeira Grande and Paul (though not listed), Santo Antão Island, Cape Verde. It is organized by the Santo Antão North Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Zona Norte do Santo Antão, ARFZNSA). The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. The league was formed in 1997 and continued to play with the Santo Antão Island League until the breakup into the north and south zones in 2002. Six clubs participate, a club with the most points participates in the national championships each season while the last placed club from the regional premier division relegates into the second division the following season. Sinagoga
Sinagoga is a settlement in the northeastern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. It is situated on the coast, 4 kilometers east of Ribeira Grande and 18 km north-northeast of the island capital Porto Novo. It is situated on the national road connecting Ribeira Grande and Pombas (EN1-SA02). Its name means "synagogue" in Portuguese. The village was founded by Jewish Miguelist immigrants from the Azores who came to Santa Antao in aftermath of the Liberal Wars in Portugal.
