Sant'Antonio (Poschiavo)
Poschiavo (, , , ) is a municipality in the Bernina Region in the canton of Grisons in Switzerland. History Poschiavo is first mentioned in 824 as ''in Postclave'' though this comes from a later copy of the original document. In 1140 it was mentioned as ''de Pusclauio''. It was formerly known by the German name of ''Puschlav''. It owes its beauty to the imposing Renaissance style of its courtly 19th century architecture. These ''palazzi'' were built by prosperous local residents who had made their fortune abroad, particularly in Spain. Geography Poschiavo has an area, , of . Of this area, 19.8% is used for agricultural purposes, while 32.1% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.8% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (46.2%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains). Poschiavo (Rhaetian Railway Station)
Poschiavo railway station is a railway station in the municipality of Poschiavo, in the Switzerland, Swiss canton of Grisons. It is located on the Bernina Railway, Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway. The station lies just outside the village of Poschiavo, and is linked to it by an avenue at right angles to the line. The station opened on 1 July 1908 with the opening of the Tirano to Poschiavo section of the Bernina line. The station building dates from 1962, and the station was modernised and remodelled between 2016 and 2019. The station has a five-story station building on one side of the line, whilst on the opposite side of the line is the principal depot of the Bernina line, responsible for maintaining the 1000 V Direct current, DC rolling stock used on the line, with several lines between them. The Hauptstrasse 29 is a main road in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, with a total length of . The road begins at a junction with between Samedan and Pontresina, and passes Pontresina before climbing over the Bernina pass at a maximum elevation of above sea level. From the summit of the pass the road descends into the Val di Poschiavo and passes through San Carlo, Poschiavo, Le Prese and Brusio before reaching the border with Italy at Campocologno. Bernina Pass
The Bernina Pass (el. .) () is a high mountain pass in the Bernina Range of the Alps, in the canton of Graubünden (Grisons) in eastern Switzerland. It connects the famous resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley with the Italian-speaking Val Poschiavo, which ends in the Italian town of Tirano in Valtellina. The pass lies a few kilometres east of Piz Bernina, and south of Val Minor. The Bernina Pass is crossed by both the Hauptstrasse 29 road and the Bernina railway line, with a popular tourist train, the '' Bernina Express'' operating year-round between Chur and Tirano. Lago Di Poschiavo
Lago di Poschiavo is a natural lake in the Val di Poschiavo in the Swiss Cantons of Switzerland, canton of the Grisons. Geography It lies at an elevation of , a length of , a surface area of and a maximum depth of . The lake is both fed and drained by the Poschiavino river and drains to the south, with its water eventually reaching the Mediterranean via the rivers Adda (river), Adda and Po (river), Po. The lake lies within the municipality of Poschiavo, and the villages of Le Prese and Miralago lie at its northern and southern ends respectively. The Bernina railway line runs alongside the western side of the lake, with stations at Le Prese and Miralago. Val Bregaglia
The Val Bregaglia (; , ; ) is an alpine valley of Switzerland and Italy at the base of which runs the river Mera ( Romansh and ). Most of the valley falls within the Swiss district of Maloja in the canton of the Grisons, the lower part within the Italian province of Sondrio. The valley includes the Swiss former municipalities of Vicosoprano, Stampa, Bondo, Soglio and Castasegna (now consolidated into the municipality of Bregaglia); and the Italian municipalities of Villa di Chiavenna, Piuro, and Chiavenna.
