San Joaquín Metro Station (Santiago)
San Joaquín is an elevated metro station on the Line 5 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. It is located close to the San Joaquín Campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. The station was opened on 5 April 1997 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Baquedano metro station, Baquedano to Bellavista de La Florida metro station, Bellavista de La Florida. Like the rest of the first stations built on a viaduct in Santiago, San Joaquín was renovated to be capable of berthing 7-car trains. The renovation work was terminated in March 2013. Avenida Vicuña Mackenna (Vicuña Mackenna Avenue) is one of the main transport arteries of Santiago, Chile, joining Santiago center with more remote urban centers such as the communes of La Florida and Puente Alto. Vicuña Mackenna Avenue begins at the intersection between the Alameda, in Plaza Italia, extending south towards the commune of Puente Alto, where its name changes to Avenida Concha y Toro. Transantiago
Red Metropolitana de Movilidad (English: ''Metropolitan Mobility Network''; named Transantiago until March 2019) is a public transport system that serves Santiago, the capital of Chile. It is considered the most ambitious transport reform undertaken by a developing country according to the World Resources Institute. The system, largely influenced by Bogotá, Colombia's TransMilenio and Curitiba, Brazil's RIT, was introduced on February 10, 2007. It standardized bus routes and eliminated redundancy of same; redundancies were commonplace in the old system, which was run by thousands of independent bus operators. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a railway platform, platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or bus rapid transit, transitway. Baquedano Metro Station
Baquedano is a transfer station between the Line 1 and Line 5 of the Santiago Metro. It is located close to the eastern terminus of the Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins.
