Augustine of Hippo ( , ; ; 13 November 354 – 28 August 430) was a theologian and philosopher of Berber origin and the bishop of Hippo Regius in Numidia, Roman North Africa. His writings deeply influenced the development of Western philosophy and Western Christianity, and he is viewed as one of the most important Church Fathers of the Latin Church in the Patristic Period. His many important works include '' The City of God'', '' On Christian Doctrine'', and '' Confessions''. Etymology The town derived its name from Saint Augustine of Hippo. History The town was created by virtue of ''Executive Order No. 269'' by then President Elpidio Quirino on September 28, 1949. San Agustín del Guadalix is a Spanish town located north of the Comunidad de Madrid, near to Sierra de Guadarrama. It is bordered by Pedrezuela to the north, the municipalities of El Molar and Algete to the east and Colmenar Viejo to the south and west. The origin of the town is obscure, but it appears that it was settled by the Iberians in the pre-Christian era. San Agustín is a municipality located in the province of Teruel, Aragon, Spain. It lies just east of the Autovía A-23 60 km south east of the town of Teruel and 70 km north west of Sagunt. According to the National Institute of Statistics, the municipality had a population of 155 inhabitants in 2013. In literature, San Augustin is mentioned by James A. Michener in his book, ''Iberia''.
