Sailing At The 2016 Summer Olympics – 49er
The Men's 49er (dinghy), 49er was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2016 Summer Olympics program in Rio de Janeiro and took place between 12–18 August at Marina da Glória. 13 races (the last one a medal race) were held. The medals were presented by Barbara Kendall, International Olympic Committee, IOC List of members of the International Olympic Committee, member, New Zealand and Adrienne Greenwood, Vice President of World Sailing. Iago López Marra (born 7 April 1990 in PortosÃn, Galicia) is a Spanish sailor. He started sailing in his hometown of PortosÃn at age twelve. He later moved to Santander and teamed with Diego BotÃn. The duo placed 9th at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 4th at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Early life López began sailing at the age of 11 at the Real Club competing in the Optimist 420 and 470 classes.
