STV Children's Appeal
STV Children's Appeal (previously named STV Appeal) is a Scottish people, Scottish charitable organization, charity appeal organised by STV (TV channel), STV and Tom Hunter, The Hunter Foundation, in aid of the STV Charitable Trust (number SC042429). History and format Since its formation in 2011, the key focus of STV Appeal has been the alleviation of child poverty in Scotland. The STV Children's Appeal seeks to address long-term, sustainable change in the lives of those children most at risk by tackling the root causes as well as the effects of poverty and disadvantage. To help achieve this objective, they engage with corporate bodies, community groups, local businesses, schools, local and central government and the general public. Lorraine Kelly
Lorraine Kelly (born 30 November 1959) is a Scottish television presenter. Stuart John Francis Cosgrove (born 12 November 1952) is a Scottish journalist, broadcaster and television executive. Poverty Trap
In economics, a cycle of poverty, poverty trap or generational poverty is when poverty seems to be inherited, preventing subsequent generations from escaping it. It is caused by self-reinforcing mechanisms that cause poverty, once it exists, to persist unless there is outside intervention. It can persist across generations, and when applied to developing countries, is also known as a development trap. Families trapped in the cycle of poverty have few to no Factors of production, resources. STV News
''STV News'' is a Scottish news division produced by STV. The news department produces two regional services covering STV's Channel 3 franchise areas of Northern and Central Scotland. STV News programmes are produced from studios in Glasgow and Aberdeen with reporters also based at newsrooms in Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness and political correspondents based at Holyrood and Westminster.
