Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) was a neutrino observatory located 2100 m underground in Vale's Creighton Mine in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The detector was designed to detect solar neutrinos through their interactions with a large tank of heavy water. The detector was turned on in May 1999, and was turned off on 28 November 2006. The SNO collaboration was active for several years after that analyzing the data taken. The director of the experiment, Art McDonald, was co-awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2015 for the experiment's contribution to the discovery of neutrino oscillation. The underground laboratory has been enlarged into a permanent facility and now operates multiple experiments as SNOLAB. The SNO equipment itself was being refurbished for use in the SNO+ experiment. Symphony Number One (SNO) is a chamber orchestra primarily devoted to new music based in Baltimore, Maryland. SNO performs each year in musical venues in Mount Vernon, Baltimore, at Morgan State University, and across the city. Jordan Randall Smith is Symphony Number One's founder and current music director. The Serbian National Renewal (; abbr. ''SNO'') was a nationalist political party in Serbia that existed in the first half of the 1990s. History The Serbian National Renewal was formed around the Saint Sava Society started by Mirko Jović in August 1988. It was established as a political party on 6 January 1990 in Nova Pazova with Jović becoming party president, and the novelist Vuk Drašković and Orthodox priest and theologian Žarko Gavrilović becoming its vice presidents. Soon after, a split emerged between Drašković and Jović, and Drašković left the party on 10 March 1990. His faction would unite with the Serbian Freedom Movement led by Vojislav Šešelj to form the Serbian Renewal Movement on 14 March. Evander Sno (born 9 April 1987) is a Dutch football coach and former player. He played as a defensive midfielder. During his active career, Sno played for numerous clubs in his native Netherlands, but also had spells in Scotland with Celtic and England on loan at Bristol City. He also featured for the Dutch under-21 and under-23 international teams. Sno typically played in a defensive midfield role, but was utilised in nine different field positions during a period on loan to NAC Breda. In addition, he was used as a striker for the Netherlands under 21s to cover for a lack of strikers in the squad at the time.
