SNK Gals' Fighters
''SNK Gals' Fighters'' is a fighting game for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, released in 2000. The game was ported to the Nintendo Switch in the eShop on April 29, 2020, and included as part of ''Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1'' in 2021. Gameplay ''Gals' Fighters'' features female characters from various SNK franchises, where the characters compete in the aptly named Queen of Fighters tournament, with whoever being able to defeat its mysterious organizer "Miss X" (in reality, Iori Yagami dressed as a woman) being given the K' Talisman, which grants any wish. The characters' sprites were drawn in the same anime super deformed style as other fighters on the system. The game plays similar to other NGPC fighting games, such as ''King of Fighters R-1'' and '' R-2'', although slightly faster, and with 1-on-1 matches. Aicom was a Japanese video game developer, founded in 1988. The Sammy Corporation website gives 1990 as its first year and says it was a subsidiary of Jaleco. Sammy bought it in 1992. Its games include ''The Mafat Conspiracy'', ''Totally Rad'' and ''Vice: Project Doom'' on the Nintendo Entertainment System, ''Blaster Master Boy'' for the Game Boy and ''Pulstar (video game), Pulstar'' for Neo Geo (console), Neo Geo. ''The Last Blade'' is a fighting game developed and released by SNK for the Neo Geo system in 1997. It was also ported to several home systems. A sequel, ''The Last Blade 2'', was released in 1998. A second sequel, '' The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny'', was released in 2000. The game takes place during the Bakumatsu era in Japan, and incorporates various elements of Japanese mythology (with a heavy emphasis on the symbology of the Four Symbols). As such, the background music generally incorporates synthesized instruments simulating a sound appropriate to the 19th century setting, in a Western classical, pseudo- Romantic style (unusual for a fighting game).
