The San Gabriel Valley (), sometimes referred to by its initials as SGV, is one of the principal valleys of Southern California, with the city of Los Angeles directly bordering it to the west and occupying the vast majority of the southeastern part of Los Angeles County. Segovia ( , , ) is a city in the autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is the capital and most populated municipality of the Province of Segovia. Segovia is located in the Meseta central, Inner Plateau of the Iberian Peninsula, near the northern slopes of the Sistema Central mountain range. SGV (automobile)
SGV was a Brass Era American automobile manufacturer that made luxury automobiles using Lancia components, from 1911 to 1916. History Origin The Acme Motor Car Company sold its site and plant to J H Sternbergh for $72,100 in May 1911. Sternbergh in turn sold the Acme Motor Car Company and leased it plant to a New York consortium. The company's name was changed to SGV. SGV Company was named for Herbert M. Sternbergh, Robert E. Graham and Fred Van Tine, the owners of the company and formerly with Acme. Fred Van Tine was the shop manager and designer of the car. Herbert Sternbergh died in March 1913. Acme had been making SGV models since 1910. This was a high-quality product, based on the Lancia Beta with a relatively small , 25- hp 4-cylinder engine with pressure lubrication and a hot water jacket over the inlet manifold. Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein
The "Sauerland Mountain Association", (Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein, briefly "SGV") is an association for hiking and Nordic Walking in the Sauerland area in Germany. It was founded in 1891 by forest administrator Ernst Ehmsen and local historian Karl Féaux de Lacroix from Arnsberg (Sauerland) and has about 50,000 members. The Association organises events and is involved in the area of the nature conservation. The association takes care of numerous footpathes and trails, for instance the Rothaarsteig, the Sauerland-Höhenflug (in German) and the Ruhrhöhenweg (in German), and marks them with signs on behalf of the nature preservation authorities of the state Northrhine-Westphalia. The length of the trails is altogether about 34,000 km, 4,300 km of these are classified as long distance trails. The company is based in the Lucerne, city of Lucerne, and its origins can be traced back to 1836. Today it is the largest inland shipping company in Switzerland, and is notable for operating a number of historic paddle steamers, in addition to more modern motor vessels. The company provides public transport routes to 32 places along the shore of the lake, with interchange to both main line and mountain railways at various points.
