SAFF Women's Championship
The SAFF Women's Championship, also called the ''South Asian Football Federation Women's Cup'', is a competition for women's national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). All seven members are eligible to participate in the tournament. History The current SAFF members are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Formerly, eight members used to compete against each other until Afghanistan departs from SAFF. It is held in every two years. India won first 5 edition so far, beating Nepal four times and Bangladesh once in the final. Winning their second title consecutively, Bangladesh are the current champion defeating Nepal by 2–1 goals on 30 October 2024 in the final. 2019 SAFF Women's Championship
The 2019 SAFF Women's Championship was the 5th edition of the SAFF Women's Championship, the biennial international women's football championship contested by the national teams of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). Initially, scheduled from 17 to 26 December 2018 in Sri Lanka, the competition was rescheduled, as Sri Lanka withdrew as hosts. Afterwards, it was scheduled to be held in 2019 from 12 to 22 March and to be hosted by Nepal. India is the current champions having defeated Nepal by 3–1 goals on 22 March 2019 in the final. Participating teams Defending champions India and Bangladesh were pitted in Group B and Group A respectively. In Group A, Nepal who finished second in the first three editions of the tournament were drawn with 2016 runners-up Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan and in Group B, along with India, Maldives and Sri Lanka are placed. Deki Lhazom is a Bhutanese professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football), forward for the Bhutan women's national football team, Bhutan women's national team. Sajana Rana (born 13 June 1987) is a Nepalese women's footballer who currently is part of the Nepal women's national football team and plays as a futsal midfielder for New Radiant's women's team having previously played for the APF Club. Yumnam Kamala Devi (born 4 March 1992) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and an occasional striker for the Indian Women's League club Nita FA. She also played for Eastern Sporting Union in the Indian Women's League and represented the India women's national football team. Sabitra Bhandari (), popularly known as Samba, is a Nepalese professional football player who plays as a forward for Première Ligue club En Avant Guingamp and Nepal women's national team.
