SAFA Women's League
The SAFA Women's League, known as Hollywoodbets Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the top flight of women's association football in South Africa. The competition is run by the South African Football Association. The league comprises 16 (originally 12) teams which won promotion from their respective Sasol Women's Provincial League divisions. The champion now earns entry into the COSAFA Women's Champions League. History Prior to the formation of the SAFA Women's League in 2019, a series of predecessor competitions crowned an annual national women's champion club for South Africa. Premier Soccer League
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is the administrative body for professional soccer leagues and cups in South Africa. It is based in Johannesburg, and was founded in 1996 following an agreement between the National Soccer League and the remnants of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). Affiliated to the South African Football Association (SAFA), the PSL organizes the country's top two professional divisions in the South African Premiership and the National First Division, and knockout cup competitions in the Nedbank Cup and the MTN 8. Teams that are relegated from the National First Division compete in the SAFA Second Division. They also organize a Youth League or PSL Reserve League DStv Diski Challenge. JVW F.C. is a women's professional soccer club based in Bedfordview, Gauteng. Founded and owned by Janine van Wyk and Lauren Duncan the club competes in the SAFA Women's League, the top tier women's football league in South Africa, History Establishment JVW FC was formed in 2012 by Janine van Wyk, which aimed to identify, develop, improve and expose female football players. The club consisted of a mere 13 players when formed and has gradually grown over the years to 98 players in the club setup. The 2015 Sasol League National Championship was the 7th edition of the Sasol League National Championship since it was formed in 2009. It was held at DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg. Cape Town Roses were defending champions. They were defeated 5-0 in the final by Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies surpassed the goal scoring record (16 goals) set by Cape Town Roses in the 2014 Sasol League National Championship when they defeated Galeshewe Ladies 25-0. Ma-Indies Ladies F.C. is a women's soccer club based in Polokwane, Limpopo. The team competes in the Sasol Women's League, the second tier women's football league in South Africa. Palace Super Falcons is a South African women's association football club that plays in the SAFA Women's Regional League, the third tier in South African women's soccer. They are three time national women's champions having won the title three times in a row in 2010, 2011, and 2012. History Palace Group formed Palace Super Falcons Women's Academy in 2002.
