''S.W.A.T.'' is an American action drama series based on the 1975–76 television series of the same name. Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan developed the new series, which premiered on CBS on November 2, 2017, and is produced by Original Film, CBS Studios and Sony Pictures Television (the latter is a successor to the producer of the original 1975 series, Spelling-Goldberg Productions). It also draws inspiration from both the original 1975 series and the 2003 film adaptation, with the 2017 reboot maintaining a similar premise and reintroducing several characters from the 2003 film. ''S.W.A.T.'' exists in a shared t ...
