Sıtkı Güvenç
Sıtkı Güvenç (1 November 1961 – 9 February 2023) was a Turkish politician from the Justice and Development Party who was a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey from 2011 to 2015. He represented the electorate of Kahramanmaraş. Güvenç died after being critically injured during the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake, three days after the quake. Personal life His brother Celalettin Güvenç is also an MP from Kahramanmaraş. The Grand National Assembly of Turkey ( ), usually referred to simply as the GNAT or TBMM, also referred to as , in Turkish, is the Unicameralism, unicameral Turkey, Turkish legislature. It is the sole body given the legislative prerogatives by the Constitution of Turkey, Turkish Constitution. It was founded in Ankara on 23 April 1920 amid the Turkish War of Independence, National Campaign. Celalettin Güvenç (born 1 January 1959) is a Turkish politician from the Justice and Development Party who has been a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey since 2015. He represents the electorate of Kahramanmaraş. Personal life His younger brother Sıtkı Güvenç, who was MP for Kahramanmaraş from 2011 to 2015, died from his injuries sustained in the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.
