Robert Huicke
Robert Huick, Huicke, or Hewicke (by 1515 – 6 September 1580), of London, Enfield and St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Middlesex, was an English physician. He was also briefly a member of parliament for a few weeks in the years 1547 and 1553. He was educated at Merton College, University of Oxford. By 1546, he was married to Elizabeth Slighfield, a sister of Henry and Walter Slighfield of Peckham, Kent; they had one or two daughters. He later married Mary Woodcock, and they had one daughter. One of his daughters was Anna Huick, wife of Sir Mark Steward (1524-1604), MP, of Stuntney in Cambridgeshire. Huick was an academic of the University of Oxford and served as Principal of St Alban Hall from 1535 to 1536. He was also a physician and was briefly a Member of the Parliament of England for Wootton Bassett in 1547 and for Camelford in March 1553. Biography Huicke was a native of Berkshire. Elizabeth I
Elizabeth I (7 September 153324 March 1603) was Queen of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death in 1603. Elizabeth was the last of the five House of Tudor monarchs and is sometimes referred to as the "Virgin Queen". Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, his second wife, who was executed when Elizabeth was two years old. Anne's marriage to Henry was annulled, and Elizabeth was for a time declared illegitimate. Her half-brother Edward VI ruled until his death in 1553, bequeathing the crown to Lady Jane Grey and ignoring the claims of his two half-sisters, the Catholic Mary and the younger Elizabeth, in spite of statute law to the contrary. Edward's will was set aside and Mary became queen, deposing Lady Jane Grey. During Mary's reign, Elizabeth was imprisoned for nearly a year on suspicion of supporting Protestant rebels. Gabriel Pleydell ( 1519 – 1591) of Midg Hall in the parish of Lydiard Tregoze, Lydiard St John (later Lydiard Tregoze) in Wiltshire, was an English landowner and politician who served as Member of parliament#United Kingdom, Member of Parliament for the Wootton Bassett (UK Parliament constituency), Wootton Bassett and Marlborough (UK Parliament constituency), Marlborough constituencies in the Parliament of England. Pleydell was born before 1519 into a large, affluent family. He entered politics in March 1553 as a member for Wootton Bassett, close to his family estate at Midgehall in Wiltshire. Pleydell's election to the Marlborough constituency two years later may have been made possible by his father's influential connections.
