Rise (2014 Film)
''Rise'' is a 2014 Australian crime drama film. It was written and directed by Mack Lindon and stars Nathan Wilson as a man falsely accused of rape. The film is based on Lindon's own experiences. Synopsis Based on a true story, Will McIntyre is a young nurse who is falsely accused of rape and is stripped of his career, freedom and is sent to a maximum security prison. Will forms an unlikely friendship with cellmate Jimmy, who is an armed robber, and a prominent lawyer who must compromise wage and status to prove Will's innocence. Cast Lindon appears as Baxter. Background In 2008, Lindon was sentenced to six years in a maximum security prison for the drink-spiking and rape of a 21-year-old woman in February 2006. Martin Sacks
Martin Colin Sacks (born 16 October 1959) is an Australian actor who is chiefly known for his 12-year role on ''Blue Heelers'' from 1993 to 2005. Life and career Sacks was born in Sydney. He got into acting after a bit part in an episode of ''The Love Boat'' when it was filming in the Pacific. His first role came about in the series ''The Restless Years'' in the early 1980s, which started him on the television circuit in Australia. He emigrated to Hollywood in the 1980s, guest starring in series such as ''thirtysomething'', but preferred Australia, and so he returned there after a few years. Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection. Early life Sitch was born in 1962, the son of Melbourne bus proprietor Charles (Charlie) Sitch.
