Regional Council Of Trentino-Alto Adige
The Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige ( it, Consiglio regionale del Trentino-Alto Adige; german: link=no, Regionalrat Trentino-Südtirol; lld, Consei dla Region Trentin-Südtirol) is the legislative assembly of the autonomous region of Trentino-Alto Adige. The assembly was elected for the first time in 1948. It meets alternately in Trento and Bolzano. Composition The Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige is composed of 35 members of the Provincial Council of Trento and of 35 members of the Provincial Council of Bolzano. For the first half of the term the President of the Regional Council is elected among the members of the Italian-speaking group, for the second among those in the German language. Alternatively, a councillor belonging to the Ladin language group may be elected as President, with the consensus of the majority of the group that will have to renounce it. Trentino Tyrolean Autonomist Party
The Trentino Tyrolean Autonomist Party ( it, Partito Autonomista Trentino Tirolese, PATT) is a regionalist, autonomist, Christian-democratic and centrist political party in Trentino, Italy. The PATT is the unofficial counterpart of the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), active in South Tyrol. The two are members of the European People's Party (EPP) and have contested together several general and European Parliament elections. Simone Marchiori is the party's current secretary, Franco Panizza its president. Ugo Rossi, a former leader, was the President of Trentino in 2013–2018. Marchiori, Panizza and Rossi are centrists and long supported the Centre-left coalition with the Democratic Party and the Union for Trentino (PATT's coalition partners since 2002). A regional council (''Consiglio regionale'') in Italy is the elected legislative assembly of a region of Italy. In Emilia-Romagna and Sicily, the legislative bodies are called the Legislative Assembly of Emilia-Romagna and the Sicilian Regional Assembly respectively. Origins The '' regional idea'' was born, in Italy, during the national Risorgimento and the first decades after the Unification of Italy, but any proposal was rejected until the Second World War. After the collapse of Fascism and the end of the war a violent independence movement that led to the institution of the region and the concession of the Statute, based on the model of federal states was born in Sicily. The Politics of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Italy) takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democracy, whereby the President of Regional Government is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the Regional Government and Legislative power is vested in both the government and the Regional Council. Fassa Association (''Associazione Fassa''), often referred simply as Fassa, is a minor Christian-democratic political party in Trentino, Italy. The party seeks to represent the Ladin minority in the Province and especially Ladins living in Fassa Valley. The Union for Trentino ( it, Unione per il Trentino, UpT) is a regionalist, centrist and Christian-democratic political party active in Trentino, Italy.
