Réquiem Para El Gringo
''Requiem for a Gringo'' (, , also known as ''Duel in the Eclipse'') is a 1968 Italian-Spanish Spaghetti Western film directed by Eugenio Martín and José Luis Merino and starring Lang Jeffries, Fernando Sancho and Femi Benussi. It is most known for the gore and psychedelic elements. It is the only western film of the Eurospy and peplum film genre star Lang Jeffries. The film is partially based on Masaki Kobayashi's film ''Harakiri''. Plot Spaghetti western starring Lang Jeffries. A man with special knowledge of the heavens looks to avenge his brother's murder. He targets a gang of Mexican bandits who have occupied a hacienda and picks the day of an eclipse to bring his plan to fruition. Eugenio Martín
Eugenio Martín Márquez (15 May 1925 – 23 January 2023) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He was known for the low-budget Film genre, genre films he made in the 1960s and 1970s, including ''Bad Man's River'', ''The Bounty Killer'', and ''Horror Express'', the latter being particularly notable for its inclusion of the well-known English actors Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, famous for their work with Hammer Films. Though never remarkably successful either at the box office or among critics, Martín's films, particularly ''Horror Express'', have achieved cult status. Harakiri (1962 Film)
is a 1962 Japanese ''jidaigeki'' film directed by Masaki Kobayashi. The story takes place between 1619 and 1630 during the Edo period and the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate. It tells the story of the ''rōnin'' Hanshirō Tsugumo, who requests to commit seppuku ''(harakiri)'' within the manor of a local feudal lord, using the opportunity to explain the events that drove him to ask for death before an audience of samurai. The film continues to receive critical acclaim, often considered one of the greatest films of all time. Plot The film takes place in Edo in the year 1630. A ''rōnin'' called Tsugumo Hanshirō arrives at the estate of the Iyi clan and says that he wishes to commit ''seppuku'' within the courtyard of the palace. This list of spaghetti Westerns includes Western films, primarily produced and directed by Italian production companies between 1913 and 1978. Films, particularly those of the influential Dollars trilogy, spawned numerous films of the same ilk and often with similar titles, particularly from the mid to late 1960s and early 1970s. By the end of the 1970s, spaghetti Westerns had lost their following among mainstream cinema audiences and the production had ground to a virtual halt. Ángel Álvarez (26 September 1906 – 13 December 1983) was a prolific Spanish film actor. He made over 205 film appearances between 1945 and 1982. He is probably best known for his western films of the 1960s and 1970s. He appeared in Spaghetti Western films such as ''Navajo Joe'', and '' Django'' in 1966 opposite Franco Nero. María Luisa Paredes Bartolomé (3 April 1946 – 17 December 2024), known professionally as Marisa Paredes, was a Spanish actress with a long illustrious career. Alfredo Sánchez Brell (23 February 1931 – 10 July 2010), known as Aldo Sambrell, was a Spanish actor, director, and producer who appeared in over 150 films between 1961 and 1996. Biography Sambrell was born in Vallecas on 23 February 1931. He travelled to Mexico because his parents were exiled there, beginning a football career in Puebla F.C., where he was known as ''Madrileño Sánchez'', and also in '' C.F. Monterrey''.
